Kent Homechoice selects Huume’s housing needs solution

Kent Homechoice, an alliance of 13 Local Authorities and 28 Housing Associations providing social and affordable housing across the region, has selected Huume to roll out a new generation of digital housing needs management software.

Kent Homechoice, which manages over 100,000 social and affordable properties, is planning to transform its services with a new Software as a Service housing register, managing choice based lettings, social lettings, homelessness, temporary accommodation and referrals.


A spokesperson at Kent Homechoice commented “We are delighted to have partnered with Huume to deliver a flexible housing system. Not only does Huume meet legislative requirements, but it also provides us with intuitive pre-assessment and full housing application forms, an agile choice based lettings module, flexible housing options solution and simple HCLIC reporting. It will also enable us to build cross module reports and to make referrals to outside supporting agencies.”

The new solution will bring all housing, tenant and applicant information together in a customisable platform giving the partnership the ability to adapt the system themselves as their needs change. The customer portal will also provide Kent Homechoice’s customers with a transparent self-serve platform to access their information, and better understand the housing application process for social and affordable housing, housing options advice and homelessness.


Kent's spokesperson stated “Huume performed very well in all aspects of our Kent wide procurement assessment and was well liked by senior officers. The ability to configure forms ourselves, design our own dashboards, as well as the automatic release of enhancements, is a real benefit.”
